Game Rules

  1. TargetMatZ requires (2) teams (Team A and B) consisting of (2) players per team.
  2. Teams alternate turns throwing disk. A1 throws a disk then B1 throws a disk and this pattern continues until each team has thrown all 4 of their disks which finishes a round. Points are calculated then the next round starts with A2 and B2.
  3. The team that scores the highest in the previous round is the team that goes first in the next round.
  4. Players must not cross the front of the mat (see dotted lines above) when throwing disk.

Scoring

  1. example 1First team to (25) points wins.
  2. Points are earned by throwing the disks into the different areas on the mats. Points are scored according to where they end up on the mat.
  3. THREE of the holes must show the corresponding color to a point value for a disk to be considered in scoring range. Only holes showing the FULL color count. See the diagram to the right. This also applies if FOUR holes are in the Blue and 3 FULL holes are off the mat. The player can take a 0 instead of -1.
  4. TargetMatz utilizes the net scoring system. If Team A scores a total of 6 points and Team B scores 4 points in a round, Team A gets 2 points for the round (6 - 4 = 2).
  5. example 2A disk lands with 3 to 4 FULL holes split between two scoring values with the remainder in a negative or non-scoring value the player will score the lower positive point value. See the diagram to the right. The disk has 2 full holes in the Orange (+3), 2 full holes in Green (+2) and 3 full holes in Blue (-1). The player will score 2 points (the majority of full holes is the Blue (-1) area).
  6. example 3 and 4Looking at the example to the right, the RED disk scores (+2) points BUT the BLUE disk CANCELS the RED disk and scores it's value of (+2).
